Health and Hygiene

Sadly many families and children do not understand the basics of health and hygiene.

A lack of hand washing leads to illness and due to poor base health things like diarrhoea can be life threatening. HUSK is working on a number of initiatives to improve Health and Hygiene Awareness

We are also very excited to be partnered with Global Dental Relief who visit our school annually and provide free dental care for children from the wider community.

Annually our students attend 2 classes on hand washing & tooth brushing. Students receive soap, toothpaste & toothbrushes.

There is a lot of work to do in this area. We need more support to help families and children. Our surveys show that there is no understanding of the link between food and health. With over 30% of children nationwide stunted due to poor nutrition, the challenges ahead are huge, but every small step makes a significant difference.
