Fruit Tree Program 2011 Update
March 2011
One of HUSK's programs is to provide Type 1 families with fruit trees to help supplement their food source and potentially provide an income stream once the trees are established. Our mango trees from 2009 are now producing good crops
With the first of the seasons thunderstorms hitting last night we decided it was a great time to kick off this years program. We are commencing with around 132 fruit trees which will be divided into around 26 mixed batches.
Over the coming weeks 26 Type 1 families in both Kompheim Village and Treak Village will receive a batch of 5 mixed trees, along with some good soil to help them get established. Tree planting will be incorperated into Beyond Unique Escapes Day in a Life program, giving tour participants the opportunity to help the families plant their trees. We look forward to posting some pictures and updates shortly.
