Dec 12 BWB - Phan Family

The Phan family live in Kompheim Village, husband, wife and 12 children.  Two of the older children live in town earning some money to help the family.   Both parents take construction or farming work when it is available, but meeting the families daily needs is a constant struggle.

On the 12th around 10 volunteers came together to help build a pig pen for the two piglets that HUSK was donating to the family.  These piglets will be raised and then sold in around 5 to 6 months.  The family will then have a small income and the ability to purchase additonal piglets.

The second part to our day was to build a vegetable plot that could help sustain the family.  The Phan's have many mouths to feed and were unable to find the funds to purchase seeds.  Our team helped plough the field, establish vegetable plots, plant and secure it all with netting.  A range of different vegetables were planted which the family will eat and also sell locally to help add to the families income.

As high season is underway in Siem Reap the next BWB will be delayed until Feb.  We look forward to updating you on our next project..
